Telfair Art Museum and Academy

Today we went to the Art Museum here in town and had a really good time. There was some really amazing things there. We couldn't take pictures except in the children's sections. We then went over to the Art Academy. The kids seemed to enjoy it. I've been wanting to go for awhile and got my chance today. We are wanting to get some more in tomorrow before school starts up Tuesday. It's hard to believe this is the last weekend before school starts. I believe we are all ready for it. I know I am anyway.......! I will miss having them here during the day. Hannah went to a birthday party this afternoon and a sleep over, last one for the summer and Jonathan went to a movie with his friend next door. So Tommy and I got some much needed time alone. We just kicked back and watched a few movies. It was very nice. With the kids going back to school and Tommy working half days we will get a few more days together once school starts. Big Smile!

Tom and Kids

Hannah

Hannah enjoyed the blocks and made a building she was proud of herself.

Silly hats

The kids and Tommy put on hats that looked like buildings. They thought it was really funny. So did I.

Crazy outfits

Tommy and the kids put on some different outfits while we were at the museum. I thought they looked so cute.

Neat!

Inside the Art/Museum Tommy and the kids stood in front of this camera and it put their figures up on the screen. It was really neat. Jonathan enjoyed it the most I think. I just enjoyed watching them being amazed by it.

Pool

We went to the pool yesterday and while we were waiting for Adult swim to be over with I took a picture of the kids. They were more then ready to just jump in.

Open House

I just wanted to update on things going on here. We really enjoyed meeting all the teachers the children will have this year. It was so over whelming with all that they will be doing and learning this year, it's going to be interesting. We are very thrilled with the school. The children are excited about school starting but I'm sure that will end the first day of home work......:} Tommy has a four day weekend so we are going to get the last minute stuff done for school and enjoy being together as a family. I'm sure a cook out will be in there as well. I hope everyone enjoys their weekend and I'll post again soon.

Great News!!!!!

I just wanted to share some news with everyone, The children made it into The Specialty School this year! We are so excited about it, they will be going to Heard Advance Learning Academy. We have tried to get in before but they were always on a wait list. To get in they had to have their report card from last year with all grades above 85 and the state test results from the end of the year( which they did awesome on) and they called yesterday and they are in. Tomorrow is open house we will be meeting the teacher, yes they are both in the same class again this year. But we will not complain they are in, that's what counts. Of course they get in right before we leave here, well that's still in the air. Let's be excited about one thing at a time. I will let you all know how open house goes. We know the teachers name is Mrs. Smith. We are very proud of them they got in because they worked hard last year and it has paid off for them. Way to go Jonathan and Hannah, we love you!

Savannah

Down town

Yesterday Tommy and the kids and I went down town Savannah and looked around and had a hot dog from the stand near the river. It was a nice way to end the day out that we had. It feels so good to have the family back together again. If we never see another deployment I wont lose sleep over it. The kids start school a week from tomorrow. I stopped by the school today to see when open house was and got to meet Jonathan's teacher. She seems very nice. Hannah and Jonathan will not be in the same class this year which is a nice thing but I will miss them being able to be in one place when it comes time to do class room activities. But we will deal with it. They seem excited about starting school but not having home work again. I'm just glad Tommy is home for it this year. We will be taking them to school on the first day as always. Never missed a year yet. But I have a feeling that it will be coming to an end soon, I'm sure once they become teenagers they wont want mommy and daddy taking them to school. Well have a nice day.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TIMMY !!!!!!!!!!!

Well today our friend Timmy's turns............ I'll leave it at that! Anyhow, We just wanted to say Happy Birthday and we hope you have a good one. Last night Tommy,Jonathan, Irma, Timmy and my self went out to dinner. So here are a few pictures from that. Hannah and Jasmine was spending the night with their friends. Once again Happy Birthday Dru!

We went out and about today and went to Fort Jackson and then down town. We have been here six years and this was the first time we went to Fort Jackson. It was a lot of fun and the kids enjoyed it a lot. Today was the first day it hasn't rained in a while so it was nice to get out. We had a great weekend and have enjoyed all of Tommy's time off. Tommy is off again tomorrow so hopefully the weather will be nice to go off again. I hope everyone is doing well and I will try to get more posting done soon.
