It's Time!!!!!!

Great news everyone, Tommy has made it safely to Kuwait! The first step in his return is in action. He should be leaving tonight (our time) and getting home sometime tomorrow late. But better late then later! We are so very excited about his return. We have everything ready to roll just waiting on the time to go get him. We were suppose to get him at 7:50 tomorrow night but they were held up the first time due to weather and now the plane is broke down. Go figure. But if all goes well he'll be leaving late tonight and getting home late tomorrow night. We CAN'T wait...... the children are so excited and so am I. How can you not be, it's been a very long deployment. Let's just hope that this is our last time for a while. You can stop laughing, I know it wont be but I can hope. Thanks again for all your prayers and support. I will update as I get information. I will post the pictures as soon as I can as well. Love to all Sara, Jonathan and Hannah. DADDY is almost here! YES!!!!!!!!

Happy Fathers Day!

I want to tell my husband that he means the world to me and the kids. I couldn't have asked for a better father for my children. Even with him being so far away he still does his best to be a big part of their lives. And for that I want to thank him. We all love him so very much and wish we could share his day with him, but he knows we will be there in his heart as we are every other day. Thank you Tommy for the love and support you have given us. Thanks for the morning wake up calls. The kids love when the phone rings at seven in the morning and they know its their daddy. It makes for a much better day. For all of us. Thanks for it all baby. Happy Fathers Day Tommy. Love your wife and children

Last day of School

Well yesterday was the kids last day of school for the year. They are thrilled and so am I because it means another day closer to Tommy getting home. Real close! At the start of school I had pictures of the kids with their teachers so I thought I would do a last day picture as well. It's hard to believe that we have fourth graders now. Where does all the time go? I remember bringing them home from the hospital like it was yesterday. They are wonderful kids and won a lot of awards this year and Tommy and I are so very proud of them. We couldn't ask for better kids. I hope everyone has a great summer because I know we will. Take care. Love Sara

I asked Irma where she wanted to go for her birthday dinner and she wanted Hooters because she wanted the fried pickles and of course the wings. Well They sang to her and it was so funny. The kids really enjoyed it. Tomorrow is her birthday but we are taking the whole weekend to celebrate it. Happy Birthday Irma.........

Our Family Deployment song

I'm sure I put this out there before but with every deployment we have a song that's ours to listen to and to think about each other while we are apart. Well We had picked "I'm already there" by Lonestar. When Tommy first left the kids and I would cry every time we heard it but it was a good cry. But as time gets closer to him coming home we are now really listening to it and it feels good to think of him in the way that the song puts it. Because he is with us always and has been from his first day deployed. So I wanted to put it out there for all of you to enjoy. The song is old but it fits the meaning behind it. When the kids and I are in the car we turn it up loud and just sing right along with it. Hannah and my self more then Jonathan. But the tears don't come as often a they did before but I'm sure the closer it gets to him really being here it will start back up. I just think it's a beautiful. Tommy and I also have a song that's just ours and I know I posted that when he left. I hope you enjoy it. www.ladynwavsone.com/alreadythere.html

Great Day for us!

Today was a wonderful day for the Spies family, Tommy got promoted to MSG. This day had some extra spacial meaning and moments behind it. For one our Brother in law Damon was on hand to pin Tommy. Today was also Tommy's 20 year mark for being in the Army. The Aircraft that you see behind them during the promotion use to be the aircraft that they were in charge of at Ft Carson many years ago, I want to say 94-95 time frame. It was new when they got it. It's crazy how it's still around. So Tommy wanted to get promoted in front of it and on the Airfield with all his buddies. And with it being June 1ST I can now say, my husband MSG Spies will be home this month!!!!! And we are looking so forward to it. The kids are on cloud nine, they have two weeks left of school then we will have 4TH graders. So once school is out, we will then start our count down for Tommy's return. I will be posting more pictures of Tommy's promotion. I hope you all enjoy the pictures. I know I did. And another thing, Tommy got to go flying after the promotion, he will try his hardest to fly when ever they let him, but his flying days are coming to an end, and I have to say I'm not sad about it. I know what he enjoys but will rest better with him on the ground. So until he leaves Iraq I will just grit my teeth, it's already under 30 days, so I can smile and make it until then. Thanks to everyone who has been supportive to Tommy and the kids and I. We really appreciate it. Love the Spies family

Tommy's big day

My Best Friend

I'm so very proud of Tommy, he has work long and hard for this. Today was a very proud day here at the Spies house hold. Even if we could not be with him in person we know we were there in heart. Way to go Tommy.
